United Nations General Assembly
A top heavy Belize delegation, headed by Minister Wilfred Elrington, is in New York for the yearly United Nations General Assembly. Elrington is scheduled to make his presentation next week and that statement is still likely on the drawing board. But the president of Guatemala, Otto Perez Molina spoke on Wednesday to the UN. The question of the referendum, which is to be held in both countries simultaneously on October sixth, 2013 was referred to by the president. This is what Perez Molina said through a translator.
Otto Perez Molina, President, Guatemala (Translated)
“My country is committed to the peaceful solution of conflict; the central theme of our debate. In that spirit, at the end of 2008, we agreed to sign a special agreement with our neighbor, Belize, to seek a resolution of a long standing territorial dispute through the International Court of Justice. Our congress unanimously approved the agreement and on October the sixth 2013, simultaneous plebiscites will be held in both countries to democratically ratify the commitment to approach the International Court of Justice.”

I am very embarrassed each time I see the leaders of this country traveling to a foreign meeting. I am so sorry to say this but they look like a rag tag bunch. Elrington and his santa claus white beard, that look like animals can hide in it.
This country already has no respect and to go to important meetings looking like the bottom of a barrell just makes me want to vomit.
Please elect people who can represent the country wilth proper communication and personal presentation.
A conflict created by !-@!@#MALA themselves.
Right on, Al! I’m embarrassed by these clowns, too.
What about Al and Bear.. do u think you’d do a better job? problem with this nation is that tooooo many spectators and so few people willing to be on stage… Not willing to be on stage because of being cowards..
@Marine1, I don’t think there is anything heroic about wanting to become a politician, feed out of the public trough, and generally live in a world of lies, deceit, and corruption, as politics are practiced in the Jewel.
I assume you must be a politician. I may vote for you if you identify yourself.
Anyway, where you seem to have contempt for informed and concerned citizens, I think such people are the only shield that may protect the nation. I think informed, patriotic, and HONEST people can do a better job than almost anyone in public office here today. But with rigged elections, and mass nationalizations, and gifts of public money to “get out the vote,” it is hard for honest people to win office. Or haven’t you been reading the news lately?
Marine 1, you are a part of the Belize problem, you do not demand anything of substance from the people who ask for your vote to represent you. Yes, I know I can do a better job. I have offered my expertise to help to get some of these offices streamlined and working more effiiciently, no one picked up my offer. I ask no money, just the opportunity to make a difference.
The Belizean peolpe like you would not vote for me, because I certainly would not come with a handout of a piece of zinc or a $50.00 to buy their vote. What I would bring is the true rotten condition the country is in and a plan for getting us into the 21st century. Make changes so people can have opportunity to a better life on a longterm basis.
No one would want to vote for me because the Hatteville prison would have a housing unit dedicated to detaining rotten stealing, dishonest politician, and crooked people in the passport and vital statistics office. No paying for a truce with the gang, the next unit in the prison would be for the dope dealing, murdering, crime comitting idiots.
Then we would look at the way the laws are written to protect the criminals, and amend them so that the victims rights are protected. So Marine 1, would you vote for me, based on what you have read? Whats more they would probably kill me, too much progress.
