Venezuela’s Chavez returns to Cuba for medical treatment
Venezuelan president Hugo Chavez has returned to Cuba for emergency surgery after his doctors revealed that a tumor that had been removed, has surfaced again in his battle against cancer. On Sunday, Chavez appeared on television to tell the Venezuelans of his health condition. He also said one more thing: he wants support for his deputy leader Nicholas Maduro to take over as president if something would go wrong with him. It is the first time Chavez has made statements about a successor. We report on this because there are number of bilateral programs with Caracas, including the Petrocaribe agreement in which Belize gets fuel from Venezuela under extremely beneficial terms.
There’s no free lunch, so whatever benefit Chavez has given us in fuel prices, he’s getting something of equal value to him in return.
He’s not my favorite dictator, I hope he leaves office soon; but as a human, I’ll also wish him recovery of his health.
If he leaves…Maduro will take over yes!
chavez is the man one of the few who care about the poor not like this thiefing pm and gov we have we have a robin hood in reverse he steals from the poor and give to the rich.
