Prime Minister speaks on neonatal deaths at K.H.M.H. and offers support

One of the biggest and outrageous incidents coming out of the public health system was revealed on Monday. Since then COLA, the Special Envoy for Women and Children and many others including many more grieving parents have come forth expressing their ire on the situation calling for heads to roll. Today, Prime Minister Dean Barrow, sent out a press release on the issue after being briefed on the situation at the neonatal intensive care unit of the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. The release states that the Prime Minister has “agreed to assist with any interim arrangements needed to outsource urgent neonatal cases to private hospitals while the K.H.M.H. unit is being made completely safe by remodeling.” It’s a move that is rather embarrassing to the K.H.M.H. that is the country’s primary referral hospital. The heart-wrenching report of the twelve deaths of premature babies at the K.H.M.H. has stunned the entire country. Seven of those twelve which occurred in the first twenty days of May, were a result of a hospital-acquired infection. The bacteria, enterobacter cloacae, was first detected in the hospital in February, but it was not until the unusually high number of deaths in the first part of May; that the hospital took notice. An investigation has been launched to ascertain who is to be held accountable for not alerting officials about the many deaths. The neonatal intensive care unit has been shut down temporarily. The release concludes by saying that a press conference will be held on Thursday, May thirtieth, to release the preliminary findings of the investigation.

Lazy “leaders” who move too slow have the blood of babies on their hands.

Would you fire such people if you were the boss? Well, they work for all of us, so we are the boss! If we don’t fire them when we have the chance, at elections, then there will be blood on our hands, too.

Fire the CEO. I heard he is too busy supporting UNIBAM instead of administrating at the Ministry of Health.

Did you Imagine that when you voted for him

finally someone told barrow we’re waiting to hear something from him, cause normally he never knows anything going on in the Jewel. But I wanted to hear more from him about what he’s going to do with the parents of the babies that died there not only about the lack of professionalism inside the K.H.M.H.
