Belize City and Merida Mayors sign Letter of Intent
Belize City Mayor Darrell Bradley and Mayor Renan Barrera Cocha of Merida, Yucatan have signed a letter of intent to establish a sister city relationship in the near future. That gesture of collaboration came during an official visit to Merida by Mayor Bradley and a delegation from Belize City from Wednesday, May twenty-ninth to Friday, May thirty-first. Mayors Bradley and Cocha discussed areas of exchange opportunity between the cities in sports, culture, trade, technical cooperation and the possibility of Cocha and a delegation from Merida visiting Belize. Mayor Bradley also took the opportunity to meet with the Secretary of State of Economic Development David Carillo and the Merida Chamber of Commerce, where discussions were held on products which could be exported to Belize. In related news, the Mexican Embassy and the Trade and Investment Mexican Agency are organizing a trade mission to Belize on June fifth and sixth. The delegation of business persons will use the opportunity to promote trade and to identify potential buyers and suppliers of Mexican products and services.
REALLY? Has the mayor not seen the shelves of stores in the entire country? You can go all the way to PG and find Mexican products!!! Why did I not read anything about exporting our BELIZEAN products such as peppers, jams, spices, etc….
Great comment, @belizean first.
WHAT DI HELl!! Belize will continue to wallow in the pit latrine of poverty if we continue to build Mexico and Guatemala and neglect our country. What about efforts to encourage exportation of Belizean products and services??! Madness
