PM dons a hard hat for meeting in United Kingdom
Incidentally, the Prime Minister of Belize Dean Barrow is also in the United Kingdom. Earlier today, PM Barrow today met with the Chairman of the City of London Policy and Resources Committee, Mark Boleat, ahead of the Guildhall lunch where the PM was honored by addressing an audience of international financiers and businessmen. The Prime Minister, wearing his hardhat, was also hosted by the Directors and Senior Management of Tate and Lyle, who gave him a presentation on the future of the global sugar industry before being escorted to the refinery where he watched thirteen thousand tons of Belize sugar arrive at the factory. Mac McLachlan, Senior Advisor to Tate and Lyle, commenting on the Prime Minister’s visit said “… It’s clear that giant leaps by the entire sugar industry in Belize over the last few years have provide Belize and the sugar industry a strong and secure platform for growth and the future of sugar in Belize. We are delighted to be part of that future with all the stakeholders in Belize.” During Barrow’s absence, Gaspar Vega assumes the role of Prime Minister.
What a disgrace that this man represents our nation shame shame shame
It does not matter how many people the PM meets with, it will not change the way he is leading the country. This PM is a worthless figurehead, one without a brain and a conscience. He sits by as his people get poorer, babies die needlessly in hospitals, because he stands by and do nothing.
He should be ashamed to even enter meetings, what can he report but lies. Belize is a non-progressing country, it has not moved forward in years, it keeps moving backwards. Change is needed, we need leaders who care about the people not filling their own pockets.
@ Al, your clue of the PM’s position is not quite here or there. Belize is where it is at because we have just a little too many people like you Al.
#Rod- Where is the Disgrace? You’re Giving the Impression that you would have done a better job at being the Prime Minister? You should be glad that Belize GDP has Grown and that were being recognized more throughout the world.
#Ali- You ever heard about takes one to know one? Figured. How did you come to the conclusion that The country hasnt grown? Imagine if Mr. Musa was the PM? Where would the country be? I Will tell you where, CHOAS!
Look at statistics before you Talk. Compare the PUP 10 year term to the UDP’s 5 years of term and tell me what is the result…..
Al – your an idiot if you cant see the value of the Prime Minister going to the UK and other parts of the world to help secure the future of our countries jobs etc – FACT without outside investment from the UK and other parts of the world the poor will get poorer and the children will suffer more – this man has a plan and if you had bothered to listen to how the UK financial centre of the world the City of London have embraced the Prime Minister and Belize and the future of Belize you would see what an amazing job he has done to get the world to stand up and take note that Belize is open for business and investment – the fact that they are listening is testimony to the credibility they have for him and his plan – i’m ashamed to call you a fellow Belizian – crawl back into your whole ‘IDIOT AL’
Only those that are benfiting from barrow think that Belize is doing great, the moodys and the andys are probably cronies or friends of cronies. Musa did a lot of bad mistakes but at least poor people still had some money in thier pockets. Now everything is just F—ed up. Babies are dying, maya ruins are being destroyed, ministers are as corrupt as ever. But our prime minister is out there as if nothing is wrong in Belize.
Interesting to see the sycophants defend a crooked PM. Foreign direct investment has plummeted under this government. As for GDP growth, the PUP had positive GDP growth through out it’s two terms. Those are facts. Look it up yourselves. The UN does not use that as a true index of development. It uses the Human Development Indices: Health, Education, and Personal Income. Those have fallen under the UDP. U see, it’s really true that the grass is growing while the cow starves. All that GDP is going into the pockets of a few. Same old story. At least the UDP sycophants should have the decency to accept the truth. I guess the standards have changed now that the truth has become inconvenient!
