Meet the new US Ambassador to Belize, Carlos Moreno
Retired California Supreme Court Justice, Carlos Moreno, has finally received senatorial approval to proceed on diplomatic mission to Belize as US Ambassador. The Ambassador is expected to arrive in Belize sooner rather than later because the Embassy has been without an Ambassador for some time. When he arrived it would be his first trip because two years ago he visited Belize and neighbouring Mexico and Guatemala. Moreno is fluent in Spanish and is the son of Mexican immigrants; he considers himself a “careful” jurist. According to US newspaper reports, others regard him as sort of a champion for gay rights because in 2009, he was the only California Supreme Court justice who voted to overturn Proposition Eight, an initiative that reinstated a ban on same-sex marriages. In anticipation of his diplomatic tour, Moreno has released a message to Belizeans in which he speaks of his unstinting support for human rights, rule of law, as well as his passion for culture.

{Statement from U.S. Ambassador to Belize…}
you’re welcome but don’t bring that crap of “as sort of a champion for gay rights” because you might have been, might have been a Jurist but here in Belize we don’t accept such ideas nor life style you seem to like Mr. Moreno. Belize is Belize and not any state of the U.S, come but respect our believes, culture and our lives.
Also we’ll keep a close eye on you for the close relationship you have with guatemala concerning our land dispute that we have.
RESPECT BELIZEAN PRIDE!!! NUFF SAID!!!
