Shyne gets turned away at the UK airport

Moses Leviy, the rapper also known as Shyne, has maintained a low profile on the local scene but big names in the music industry have been trekking to Belize in connection with a new album in the pipeline. The recording would be his first since his release from prison. But the news tonight is that over the weekend Shyne packed up and headed to London via Cancun but he ran into trouble with immigration officials over some glitches in his travel documents. The rapper was denied entry into the UK and was turned back. Shyne was heading to London to record his new album and was accompanied by an entourage that included one local artist whom he has recruited for his new release. But as he faced immigration issues, this past Tuesday, a song entitled “All my Life” featuring DJ Khaled was leaked on the internet. It includes lyrics from Shyne on his time in prison. Khaled introduces Shyne saying quote “From the streets of New York , where the streets don’t sleep, Shyne get ’em!, Shyne then raps All my life I’ve been rolling with the D’s and the C’s, Steady ducking the police, ain’t a friend. When they take me ahead, they fill me with lead Until it come to an end, I’ll be bleeding in bed. I live slowly let you read in the F.E.D.S., Daddy wasn’t there but my mama was a gem. But I ain’t trippin’ though, that’s how I kill a flow”. Shyne traveled through Mexico since he cannot enter the US because of his conviction for assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession. He served nine of ten years at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in the state of New York for a shoot-out at a Manhattan night club.
Enough of this Shyne bashing. This young Belizean made a terrible mistake and paid the price,he spent almost a decade in prison. For him getting turned away at UK- that was a bad decision to travel so soon after being deported. What Shyne should do now is give up this Rap music business, that is what got him in trouble and will occur again if he does not heed my warning.There are many positive things he can do with his life in Belize after all Daddy is Prime Minister. Honor thy Father speak no evil.
Shnye made a mistake.He paid for his mistake , so let him move on with his life. I wish him luck,and if he choose to go to Europe or any part of the world to me a living that is his buisness.I migrated to America 35 years ago to make a living in America.That is my buisness.

I think he already paid for his mistake. This is how we learn. After all, who hasn’t made mistakes in their life. “Whoever is without sin cast the first stone”. I bet no one can. If he wants to continue with his music this is his business. Music is his life. For anyone who doesn’t love music, this is hard to retain. But, he lives, breathes and experiences music. I think he should continue with his music as this is a positive influence to all young Belizeans. You go Shyne. All the luck in the world and I mean this from the bottom of my heart.
Shyne just signed a seven figure deal with Def Jam Records.With that said he would be better off living somewhere else other than Belize.With all the killing of poor people everyday, and all the haters in Belize I would say go to Europe, untill you could come back to America.

I agree, Shoe Shyne would like to get out of Belize. Obviously he wants to continue his career and here he wont make it. He doesn’t really care about Belize and Belize don’t knows him. He caint even taak creole.
I think everyone should be given a second chance. Shyne is one of them. He’s served his time. What else do the world want. Let him go on with his life!
I just think that us Belizeans need to focus on more important issues in our community rather than throwing stones on Shyne. He did what he did and he did his time. Full stop. Let’s move on and find ways to help a neighbor and our own family instead of worrying bout him. I’m tired of it all and it just shows how much we working with the devil- an idle mind is the devils’ workshop! As far as I’m concerned he is no threat to us. Sex offenders and all those dirty men who live amongst us touching our children need to be put on blast! The so-called men who don’t take care of their children need to be focused on!! Put a plug in it Reggie! The main purpose to register is so the law enforcement can know where you are and that you are not comtting any more crimes. Shyne has paid his dues to society and served his time. he is not on any probation nor house arrest. He is free to travel where he ay and do as he pleases. he may not be allowed in the US but that does not stop him from going or traveling to other countries. People need to get off this whole negative shyne kick. get over it. let the man live his life. They have thousands of people deported to belize that no one on this board event blinks an eye or event looses a breath for. let the man be.

He is a big kid! He should assume responsibility of his own action and parents at his age can not do anything but just to hope them well in life. Because it is them that they make who the are in life. He should have used this father position wisely and he would have been better.

I didn’t make the deportee law.it is the GOB.and i know a lot of Belizean who went back home and had to comply.The warrant was issued for the guy Young and he was arrested for not reporting.I have no problem for a person to get a second chance .but you must pay the price for the crime and follow the law of the country.

Is he still on parole???? I always thought that once ur on parole u cant leave the country until the end of your parole period. I have a few friends that got deported from the states and they have to go and sign in at the police station. Is he doing that? With all that said and done, if he wants to leave let him go and do what he has to do. If he needs to leave to accomplish his music so be it. If he is trying to get away from Belize altogher, he needs to realize that only physically he can. You can take the boy out of Belize, or should I say the boy can leave Belize, but no matter where he goes, Belize is his native land.

Shyne is not on the corner selling drugs , or begging.The man is an artist.The best in Belize.I do not know of any artist in Belize who have singed a mega million contract with a major record label.Def Jam would not have signed him if he was’nt good.There is amarket out there for gangster rap,just like how there is a market for violent movies , and video games .
Our Governor in the state of California star in many violent movies such as the Terminator , but that is just the role he played in these movies , and sane people do not go out and commit violent acts because of movies , or rap music.

I am a Belizean Native left my country to seek a better dream 23 years ago illegally. I stay where Shyne lives when i visit home , which is quiet often. I never see him around our country nor our people. I do see his glamarous entourage around the premises of the condo. I am a single mother, just formed a non- profit organization in Belize to help mothers and at-risk youth. I have yet to see and hear from Shyne about what i am doing home in our country and he stays right above my head. I can promise you that the communite we go in he would never put his feet in there. I pray and hope to God that one day he too will see what our youths are going through and give back , not only WORDS but to give monetarily wise to help our country . As you know his father is our Prime Minister. Please look out for us on facebook in 2 weeks. New Love Foundation and we will show you what goes on in Belize with our children and why Shyne better do something eventually. I support you because you are doing what you love to do and i will keep you in my prayers to see good come. Just dont forget our children.

As far as I’d be concerned, if I didn’t grow up in a country, and the only thing I knew about it was that my mom grew up there and I never knew my dad, I wouldn’t consider myself from that country. Why would I want to live in a tiny little unfamiliar place with very little opportunities after chasing the dream of being internationally known, and almost tasting it. (I do remember the Shyne song about the cars that was popular prior to his conviction). I don’t see how he’d identify as a Belizean; so, why not move on when possible??

No! he is filthy rich while we are here struggling to find food to put on our tables, to pay our bills. We don’t have entourages like he does we travel by bus; what does he travel in? Maybe Shyne should do a few concerts in Belize and invite us, the different Belizean Artists to be a part of it. He could perhaps mobilize representatives from the musical industry in the US (his contacts) and market us to these people so that we have more Belizeans Artists in the international musical scene, hence more income for Belize and a better life for our families. This would boost our economy and create more jobs as these monies would be invested in new and better homes for our families. Belize has a lot of talent but it is hard to move up in the music industry and many give up due to lack of resources. Shyne, you have the right links. You are a big international star. Help us in this rough road “God-Father”?
I also invite everyone to desist this negative “stone throwing” on Shyne. He is a great artist. He has taken responsibility for the choices he has made in life. Why should we judge him? We all have flaws and make decisions the way we think its best. I believe we should be proud of his achievements in the music industry.

I left Belize 35 years ago, and what I have discovered from reading some of these comments that Belizeans still just a group of jealous people.Nothing change. Shyne owe nothing to Belize.His money is his money.The man have talent that he could market worldwide. As far as I am concern he did his time for his crime.He is not living a criminal life style.He is just making music , and taking care of his buisness. I have not heard Shyne said anything negative about Belize.His soul is in NY,just like my soul is in Cali. My roots is in Belize,but Cali is my home.

You cannot judge us by who writes on this blog…in fact we dont even know out of all of us writing here who is Belizean and who is not. I live and work in Belize. I respect everyone’s opinion but as you could see above, encourage people to see things in a positive light. I know nothing much about Shayne other than he is a rapper, and was in some trouble here in New York, City along with Puffy, P. diddy Combs and JLo. The bottom line is the young man was arrested, charged and sent to jail for a crime we are not even sure he committed, be that as it may, he did the time for the crime. I, in no way put Belize down, I myself tell anyone that I am a proud kruffy patlicka. That aside, I’m asking you to see Belize from Mr. Barrow/Leviy’s point of view. I don’t imagine that he is as “proud to be a Belizean” as you are, which was my point. (I do have a habit of circumventing the point I am try to make; so, thank you for the opportunity to clarify.) Developing your pride and identity of who you are as a person, mainly occurs during adolescence and young adulthood. Shyne spent that time in NYC, and compared to NYC, Belize is a “tiny little unfamiliar place with very little opportunities” for him.
I wholeheartedly agree with you that Belize “is small yes…[and has] culture, natural reserves, and natural attractions.” As far as opportunities to become an internationally reknowned rap artist, however, I do not believe that Belize, despite the language and location, has the necessary resources for him.
I am certain that if Shyne were able to get the equipment, producers, executives, support staff and everything necessary to pursue his musical aspirations in Belize, he would. Sometimes, however, it is easier (and cheaper) to fly 3 people out of one country than to re-locate so many other people and things. As the saying goes, “If Mohammed will not go to the mountain, the mountain must come to Mohammed.” In other words, the young man is trying his best to pursue his career. He may have an entourage and be able to live a high life in Belize, but that may not be possible in other places in the world until he becomes a major artist.

John boy,i am a born and bred Belizean living in the USA and whether some people up here want to admit it or not,your statement about “jealous belizeans cannot be more accurate.Maybe they would understan the word “HATERZ” much better.This dude spent most of his life away from Belize.He knows nothing about this place.You cannot just one day send him back their and expect it to be like he never left.I have a mad passionate love for my country but i left when i was already in my 30’s and still is in my 30’s,so for me its different.People must realize this kid was locked up for almost 10yrs.Just give him a damn break to find himself again and stop the hating.If we were in his shoes,we would probably be living the same way he is living…..hell, know i would.For the ones that are doing good for Belize….God bless you if you are doing it with a good heart.Don’t worry about what this kid have.He worked for it and almost ruin his life in achieving it.He deserve every penny he have.Don’t blame him for the struggling people in Belize.Blame the lazy ass people that doesn’t want to better themselves.Belize is full of that.I use to work for the gov’t and every wednesday they were right there waiting for handouts.I am very proud of Shyne and hope he keep doing what he’s doing…..P.S-if Shyne decides to not go and sign in at the police station,what will they do to him?….deport him to america?……hahahehe!
