Shyne gets turned away at the UK airport

Moses Leviy, the rapper also known as Shyne, has maintained a low profile on the local scene but big names in the music industry have been trekking to Belize in connection with a new album in the pipeline. The recording would be his first since his release from prison. But the news tonight is that over the weekend Shyne packed up and headed to London via Cancun but he ran into trouble with immigration officials over some glitches in his travel documents. The rapper was denied entry into the UK and was turned back. Shyne was heading to London to record his new album and was accompanied by an entourage that included one local artist whom he has recruited for his new release. But as he faced immigration issues, this past Tuesday, a song entitled “All my Life” featuring DJ Khaled was leaked on the internet. It includes lyrics from Shyne on his time in prison. Khaled introduces Shyne saying quote “From the streets of New York , where the streets don’t sleep, Shyne get ’em!, Shyne then raps All my life I’ve been rolling with the D’s and the C’s, Steady ducking the police, ain’t a friend. When they take me ahead, they fill me with lead Until it come to an end, I’ll be bleeding in bed. I live slowly let you read in the F.E.D.S., Daddy wasn’t there but my mama was a gem. But I ain’t trippin’ though, that’s how I kill a flow”. Shyne traveled through Mexico since he cannot enter the US because of his conviction for assault, reckless endangerment and gun possession. He served nine of ten years at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in the state of New York for a shoot-out at a Manhattan night club.

John Boy that is not cool man. It is true that shine is a good musician, and it is true that all these people are just hating on him, but it comes from something more than just jelousy. It comes from the fact that the majority of Belizeans are born at a dissadvantage, they grow up in this predisposition and there is not effective, stable, public and accessible mechanism for them to move out of the poverty which holds them back. This is why when most Belizeans get the chance they leave, but you must understand that it is not all their fault, the Govt has a lot to do with the way Belizeans are today

For those who do not understand the attacks on Shyne…it is borne out of jealousy and anti-intellectualism! The only “smart” man we praise is Shyne’s dad who abandoned him while he was growing up. I admire the young man because he fights each day and in my judgement has beaten the odds overcoming the step-child syndrome! Shyne is very talented like all of us, he too is human and has erred, but none of us are without sin that we can stand and judge him. We are a sick set when we applaud the behavior of people like his father who has and continues to visit hardships upon us and enriches the children he chose. I personally don’t have any problems with Shyne’s success and more power to him. The thing of it is, he has paid his price to society but the law will remain the same for Shyne and everyone else that has committed a crime. This is why it is very important for we as human beigns to understand that there are consequences to our actions before we commit ourselves. Because we are imperfect, we will make mistakes and we should prepare ourselves to learn from those mistakes and accept the consequences that goes along with them. “What is good for the Goose is good for the Gander”. We should also take it to consideration that their must be a psychological problem that is bothering this guy from his childhood by his attitude towards his father and it’s very obvious. The haters may think that “Water Melon noh bare Pumpkin, even if ih come like Squash”, but it’s more deeper than that.

We have many other artist from Belize doing better things than shyne, but not in da main stream. Dan Macus, Lugua, Grhymes. They do Belize the hype in theUSA, UK and europe, but they are not popular is the ganster rap world, their lyrics is clean and educating.

Change is something that the Government would have to do. The people elect them, Government, to make the changes that they were promised prior to election day. The people, teacher and children are marching daily and protesting against violence but nothing is being done. The Prime Minister must make a stand and enforce some sort of discipline action and take it up to the highest individual that could instate his requirement or Belize will become a violent country that will be placed on the restricted list for visitors.
Perspective people…Perspective…Shyne is a Belizean native son and although he’s a little misguided because of his childhood, his name will always be synonymous with my country and for that we must all render due respect. The fact that he considers himself more American than Belizean simply reflects the confusion this country wreaks on our minds.
